I AM SO PROUD OF MY LITTLE SHAWN!!
When I wake up and see my little boy I can’t help but to feel love!!! Sure he tests my patience, BUT overall he is pretty great!! The other day he asked if we could go to church and I said SURE!! I used to go as a kid, but lost my way because of Tony’s shift, excuses, and other commitments.
We went to this church activity during Halloween and the place seemed great. It appeared they done a lot for the youth and community and I said, I will want to try this place out ONE DAY. I kept putting off….I seriously think God put it in Shawn’s heart to go, to make me actually GO. Otherwise, I might not have.
God always had a way of putting you exactly where you need to be at the right time, am I right? So off we went in our Sunday morning attire and I had to capture this sweet picture of Shawn…he WAS smiling and then he must have switched his face. LOL I chuckled and we went on our marry way!
They had a Christmas play that day and Shawn was very focused watching all of it. It was called a Lamb’s Tale and all the kids were dressed as animals. They told the birth of Jesus from a lamb’s perspective. It was very cute and Shawn loved it. He went to a class with 8 kids and seemed to love it. I think we found our church family. I hope and pray Shawn stays excited about going. We will probably go on Sunday mornings while Tony sleeps in for work. Wednesday he has karate, but I think it is a great way to keep Shawn connected to God.
He was at Gateway this entire time and when he started school we couldn’t go back there…plus I moved and I am no longer headed to Charleston, so we may never use them again…not sure. Unless Tony takes him every morning to Gateway and I pick up after work from Teays Valley. Either way…I didn’t want him to lose connection and forget all the Bible stories he learned about in the past.
I grew up in church and I honestly feel it has given me the faith it has today…how could I ever take that away from Shawn??
I hope you love it my baby boy!! I am excited to go with you every Sunday and hear about all that you learned!
