Story time...
I wasn't always "on point" with my goals, in fact I was the most unorganized chippy you could ever meet when it came to my health and fitness!
I didn't have goals in progress, they were simply wishes that I WANTED but fear held me back. What we’re those wishes?
Let me share…
I was struggling to keep up with Shawn when he was just 2 years old and I wanted to be the active parent for him and ENJOY him. He is my only child so I didn't want to miss out but take full advantage of family FUN!! Roller Coasters, Rides, Running, Playground Play, Getting in the floor with him, YOU NAME IT! I wanted to be there!
My future health looked grim with diverticulitis and diabetes and I struggled with going to the bathroom (once a month) and I blacked out at work. So you know that I wanted my future health to be stable and GOOD for the long haul. I wasn't looking for a quick fix because they don't last.
Trying on dresses for my sisters wedding left me angry and sad that I let myself go. When that woman said, "Honey, I got nothing bigger for you," my heart sank. I wanted to lose 70+ lbs. and be comfortable in my skin! I didn’t like struggling to find something that fit! I was still wearing maternity clothes 2 years after he was born - they grew with me!!
These "WISHES" mattered A LOT to me. I WANTED them all to happen, but you know what?
Nothing happens with wishes or saying I WANT. It is the actual ACTION and daily consistency that matters most!
So, I changed my perspective on everything, and used the tools that I found most valuable in this process which helped me to make this sustainable and completely doable! Actually anyone can do this for sure and I can help with that! The tools are life changing!!
These "wishes" are my WHY POWER!
What is WHY POWER?
It is a DEEP emotional connection to the outcome you want and WHY you want it.
Every habit you form has a consequence whether it be good or bad. So I wanted my current habits to align to the life I wanted and deserved. Hence why we talked about identity on day 5 of our challenge!
My old habits led me to where I was having problems, so obviously it wasn't good consequences. They needed to change in order for a different outcome to happen!
It started with change and repetition and a system that worked.
Over time, consistency happened and it is crazy, but on the 26th of this month, I will have been a coach for 6 years! It has flown by and I wouldn't change anything!
I wanted results and I got them because of my determination with my goals and these amazing tools!
I never felt "motivated" because it was NEW, DIFFERENT, and CHALLENGING, BUT I also knew that what I was doing before wasn't working either so change had to happen!
I am currently reading Atomic Habits (I highly recommend this book) and I held the Free 5 Day Crush Your Goals Challenge last week in my FREE Community, and it was all about building those habits so you can learn to crush your goals ONE at a time!
No need to overwhelm yourself or feel like you have to be like ME to get it ALL done. Please never compare your journey with other’s!
Start with SOMETHING...fitness...nutrition...drinking more water...getting in more steps. ANYTHING really.
The point of setting up goals is so the habits can BUILD over time. These habits must align to the goals you want to achieve in order to be successful.
You know what WON'T work?
Trying it ONE time and saying it doesn't work at all! LOL
You can't expect to do ONE pushup and have biceps, or ONE sit up or ONE plank and expect to have abs, and I am sorry to say that even eating ONE salad won't give you the weight loss you want. LOL It takes an amazing system of tools/coach (I got you here), consistency, time, and most of all... patience to show you the ropes! Believe me...I tried doing this on my own when I first started and I had no system, no plan, I was just WINGING IT! LOL Nope...FAILED! I don't want that for you especially when I know how to help you!
Question - What would you like to work on? Is it all the pieces or just ONE piece? How do you feel most comfortable…jumping All in or Baby Stepping it??
There is no wrong answer here! It’s simply however you work best!
