NEED SOME POSITIVE WORDS TODAY?

I know when I first started my health and fitness journey I never thought I would be this consistent. I am truly grateful for the work I have put in and where I am at today.  I know this working out thing may feel like a daunting task, but don't let it.  Don't let your fear take you away from your goals.

Our bodies are meant to move and we owe it to ourselves to be the best we can be.  When we are full of love and we have a cup that runs over, then we must share it.  Our kids feel our love and we aren't so crazy anymore, because we have taken the time to care for ourselves. 

I never in a million years thought I could do something like this, but I am.  You have to put yourself out there and believe 100% you are capable and can achieve success and I know you can.  I have no doubts...simple as that.

I was there before, I saw the daunting task in front of me - 70+ lbs. staring me in the face, but you know what?  You can stare at it and be more scared than ever to start or you can just acknowledge it, and work little by little to knock that number down into more manageable goals...Like 5 lbs. a month or whatever your goal is. 

It can be done, you just have to stop getting overwhelmed by it.  It can be scary if you ALLOW it to be, but if you stare at it, and stick with your guns that you can conquer it...believe me you will. 

There are all kinds of fears out there, and self limiting ones are the worst.  They hold you back, tell you that you can't do something, or simply flood you with anxiety and depression leaving you feeling simply hopeless. 

Let me say this, I don't want you to drown in those types of feelings...Instead I want you to embrace them and MOVE ON!  Yes that is right, move on.  The second I took charge of my life and stopped letting my "mean girl" rule me, was the second I said I was going to do it, and guess what?  I haven't looked back since.

So yeah, acknowledge your feelings, but don't let them control your life to make you unhappy, unhealthy, and miserable.  I am telling you my friend, there is a better way.  HOW? 

Through God, nutrition, and fitness.  Don't say yeah right...don't say come on you can't be serious?!?!  Because I am serious!!

When I changed my eating habits from the junk to balanced nutrition, my sugar got better and I started to feel better.  When I made exercise a part of my daily routine, I noticed day after day, I had more energy.  I was no longer dragging...no longer tired all the time, and I started to feel alive again.  I slept better and I got a lot more done around the house, which always makes you feel good right?

So my message to you, is that you need to stop listening to that mean girl inside your head.  You know the one that says you can't achieve this, you have far to many pounds to lose, this would take you forever, what the heck are you thinking??  OR You mean I have to get up early to get my workout in?  Why…. my bed is so comfortable??

Yeah...all those "mean" thoughts are fears, self limiting beliefs, and doubts you have within yourself.  So please, don't listen to them...choose a different voice.  The voice of your after self, the one that wants to come alive, and the one that sees a bright big beautiful life out there.  I know she/he is in there...I know you can find it...just listen my friend. 

You will be amazed of how much more happier you can be if you just believe in yourself like the way I believe in you. 

So tell me, what self limiting belief are you going to conquer this week? 

Which one are you going to be like ENOUGH is ENOUGH? 

Let me hear it, because the more you crush that mean voice, the less likely she will try to take over...this is how you get started....this is how I did it...I stopped listening and I started to tell it what was going to happen...that moment...I, the true and REAL me, was in charge again!!

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

First off…I got new hair! LOL I am digging the darker shorter cut!

So when I first started I had all the excuses as to why I couldn't get started in the first place.  It was exhausting really!  If I would have just stopped and got in and got out, there would have been less worry about it.  It never failed, after all said and done, I would say, well...that wasn't so bad!  It is like seriously Rebecca...you wasted almost 20-30 minutes or even minutes procrastinating! 

I was reading the 10X Rule and believe me this guy lays it all out!  He is one determined cookie to take massive action!  He said there is a difference between successful people vs. non-successful people! 

Whatever you consider being successful is up to you.  Completely up to you!  If you want 15 lbs. gone and accomplish it then you were successful.  If you want to schedule MORE family time and stick by it and, then you are successful! 

No matter what the topic is, the steps are all the same.  It is called TAKING ACTION!!  I know...it seems so easy, but why do so many fail at this or even struggle to get started?

I have learned that successful people aren't afraid of the work, but ONLY focus on the reward or the outcome that will benefit them.  Non-successful people on the other hand, over think it...over plan it, over analyze it, and seriously just talk themselves right out of it. 

He had a competition going on and said let's see how many phone calls you can make in 30 minutes.  His team started to plan who would make the phone calls, what they would say, how they would close the deal, and so forth.  He on the other hand just started making phone calls and got 28 phone calls done in 30 minutes!!  They got like 10. 

So see...sometimes attaching a FEELING to your wasted time, only makes it worse and hinders your success!  If you stick with your guns and just go all in, then you will see results.  WHY?  You are no longer letting FEAR take over and you stop wasting time! 

What do you want to be known for?  Someone who was a go getter or someone who just rolled with the punches?  He claims that rolling with punches is the NORMAL way and honestly BORING way of living! 

He knows he is needed for a higher purpose and just rolling with the punches will not get him there.  He must take MASSIVE ACTION! 

That is how we either fail or succeed at our health and fitness journey!  If we waste time with our feelings of WHY we shouldn't work out, or I DON’T WANT TOO OR FEEL LIKE IT…then we are just like we was before...which isn't cool!

BUT...if we take action and just not over think it then it gets done!  It is truly that simple. Making this harder than what it needs to be is so over rated!  I mean you can't say you want change if you don't embrace it! 

Successful people strictly focus on their reward and not the steps it takes to get there while the non-successful people stress, worry, and over analyze the actual steps.  Hence why NOTHING gets done.  If you focus on your WHY, your reason and do one day at a time...YOU WILL GET RESULTS!  Stop putting the pressure on yourself to be this perfect person, it will take time, but giving up is not the answer my friend.  Trust me...it isn't!

When you finally hit success, you can look back on your journey, like I have and say WOW...my path was hard...but I freaking made it!  

My goal and hope for you is that you become capable of doing something extraordinary for yourself!  WHY?  Because there is a greatness within you my friend...please find it...and UNLEASH THE POTENTIAL WITHIN!

IS YOUR REASON FOR SHOWING UP STRONG?

You know in my book, I said the #1 step to getting healthy and fit is having a POWERFUL WHY...I call it WHY POWER!!

This is soooo stinking crucial in your journey that seriously without it, you will fail.  I am not being mean, but this is what happens every single time to people who say they have tried to lose weight but just couldn't make it work.

I want you to hold that thought...it wasn't that they couldn't...it was that they didn't want to because their WHY POWER was not strong enough!

I always say we all have story, but what will hold your head high when things get tough?  It is your REASON to keep moving and not to give up! 

What does that mean exactly??  Well let me give you an example:

Let's say there is a bridge and it is low and close to the ground and all you have to do is walk across it and I will give you $20 for doing it, would you?  HECK YES!!!  (Sure...who wouldn't want to make an easy $20, am I right?)  This is you taking the easy way out and just doing a workout here and there if at all, because it really isn't convenient enough for you, but you know you should...but there is no sense of urgency to keep you going.  Plus that $20 was all it took to "motivate" you for a second!

Ok now, let's up the game a bit and see if your tune changes...

So we raise the bridge about 100 ft. up in the air and the only thing standing between you and your family is the bridge and a burning building they are in...I will not give you $20 this time...BUT...are you going to take the climb and walk the bridge, even though you are "scared" of heights, to save your family??  The answer better be HECK YES!!  (If not, we need to discuss some parenting issues - just saying - lol) 

Why is this?  You would seriously do ANYTHING to keep your family safe from harm, even if you have to get uncomfortable with it.  They rely on you to protect them, do they not?  That $20 didn't matter anymore...you simply did what you HAD TO DO FOR YOUR FAMILY.   Like health and fitness, you will simply do what you have to do for YOUR HEALTH. 

See the difference?  When you raise the stakes and create a sense of urgency, a sense of emotion, on WHY you need to do something instead of wasting time (that is another topic for a later date), then you do it because the stakes mean something to you!!

That my friend, is how I am able to stick with it.  My WHY POWER is strong and keeps me connected to getting healthy and fit.  It has NOTHING to do with motivation...because in my past experience, motivation is crap...it lasts only a short time, but having a POWERFUL WHY to do something means everything!!

Another example is your job...we all necessarily don't love going to work, but we know we have to in order to provide for our family.  You can think of health and fitness the same way.  You necessarily don't like eating a vegetable or being uncomfortable in a exercise move, BUT the reward is so much greater!  Your future health is at risk and unless you do something now...believe me my friend...it can start going bad quickly if you don't take care of yourself.

This part can be challenging to determine what your actual WHY POWER is, but for most of us...it is our families...they need us around, we want to be around, we don't want to have future health issues. 

That was another thing that kept me going...I didn't want to turn into my grandmother.  She lost both of her legs due to diabetes, and I was headed in that direction if I didn't take control of my junk food addiction!

Now I can honestly say, I have overcome it and I haven't felt this great in a long time!  I might be 41 years old, but I sure as heck don't feel it!  

So think about something or someone who is close to your heart, who you don't want to let down, and want to be there for...are you willing to cross that bridge and save them in a burning fire...they or that is your WHY POWER!  It has the power to pull you in and make you go above and beyond what you thought was possible for yourself. 

You might feel like you could never achieve your own transformation, but believe me you can!!  You are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for.  You just have to go to that mental block - kick it and push it down...because on the other side my friend...is the person you have been trying to reach and become.  You are in there...so go find your awesome self and get moving!!

Note:  I always kept my WHY POWER in sight!!  The dress for my sister's wedding was my first driving WHY POWER!  Not because of the material dress itself, but how I didn't want to let my sister down.  I didn't want to "look" and "feel" bad about my picture in her wedding...those are forever!  So yes...go deep and figure out what will drive you and keep that gem in front of you always! 

So my questions to you are:

  1. What is your WHY POWER and WHY will it keep you moving forward on the tough days when the excuses are strong?

  2. Are you getting emotional and/or crying over it...if you are not...keep digging!!!  You have to be connected to it!

  3. What is going to be physically in front of you?  This will be a CONSTANT reminder of your goals you want to achieve! 

  4. When are going to start your own health and fitness journey?? If you are ready to begin, let's do this!!

Whatever your WHY Power, make sure it is looking you dead in the face!  If you are constantly seeing it, there is no escaping it.  It must make you emotional, it must give you that push to keep going, when your excuses are at their strongest!  Be stronger than those excuses and fight for what you truly want...not what is easy!  There is a major difference!
